Ski Goggles – Clear Vision in Any Weather

On the slopes, visibility is a matter of safety. Ski goggles protect your eyes from wind, snow and strong UV radiation at altitude, and the right lens helps you read the snow surface in sunshine as well as in fog and snowfall.

In this category you will find ski goggles by GOG (Poland), a brand we officially import to Bulgaria, as well as models by Lhotse (France).

How to Choose Ski Goggles

  • Filter category: shows how much light the lens lets through – from S0 (clear, for night skiing) to S4 (very dark, for high mountains and very strong sun). For most days on the slopes, S2–S3 is the most versatile choice.
  • Photochromic lens: lightens or darkens depending on the intensity of the sunlight, which makes it practical in frequently changing weather.
  • Double lens: the air gap between the two lenses reduces fogging, and the anti-fog coating on the inside adds extra protection.
  • UV protection: UV400 filters 100% of UVA and UVB rays, which is essential on snow and at altitude.
  • Lens colour: yellow and orange lenses boost contrast in overcast weather, while mirrored lenses reduce glare in bright sunshine.
  • Lens shape: cylindrical lenses are more affordable, while spherical lenses offer a wider field of view and less distortion.
  • Compatibility: the frame should sit flush with your helmet with no gap over the forehead, and the strap should be long enough to go over it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I clean my ski goggles?
With a soft microfibre cloth or the goggle bag, once the lens is dry. Do not use wet wipes or alcohol-based cleaners, including lens wipes containing alcohol, as alcohol damages the coating. Do not rub the inside of the lens while it is wet.

What should I do if my goggles fog up?
Do not take them off in the cold and do not wipe the inside. Let them clear as you move. Fogging often happens when goggles are pushed up on the forehead, under a hat, where they absorb heat and moisture from your head.

Can I wear ski goggles over prescription glasses?
Yes, if the model is marked OTG (Over The Glasses). It has a deeper frame and cut-outs for the arms of your glasses. For GOG ski goggles we also offer special optical inserts that fit inside the goggles. The insert comes without prescription lenses, which are fitted by an optician. Not all models accept an optical insert, and the solution is suitable for prescriptions up to about 2–3 dioptres (near- or far-sighted). With a stronger prescription the lens becomes too thick to fit.

Is one filter category enough?
For most skiers, S2 or S3 covers most days. If you often ski in fog and snowfall, a second pair with a lighter lens (S1) greatly improves visibility. Another option is photochromic ski goggles, whose lens adapts to the light.
