How to choose roller skates?
Roller skates are divided into four categories, depending on how we want to use skates: Fitness, Speed, Aggressive & Freestyle and Hockey.
Parts of skates
Every skate is comprised of four basic parts, which is something good to know: Boot, Chassis, Wheels, Bearings.
Boots in different types of skates may have many differences, which are necessary for the skate to serve for on 100% exactly the purpose for which it was created. They can be divided into boots with fixed frames (plastic shell) and boots with a soft shell and of course, different shoes, which use different materials for different parts of boots. Often, the bottom of the boot at the toe and instep are made of textile materials for easier perspiration and heel with the top of the plastic to ensure good settlement of foot in the boot and quality guidance of skate (good power transfer from foot to skate). Tightening of the skate is provided by laces, buckles, or a combination of the two. Tightening by buckles is the faster tightening of skate by laces is more effective. The materials from which the boot is made affect the comfort of the foot in the boot. High-quality materials take the sweat out, do not roll down and often have shape memory, which ensures precise shaping of the inside to your sole. If you have an inner material with shape memory, do not lend the skates to anyone. The boot could change shape and then pinch you or conversely be too loose around the ankle.
Chassis holds the wheels skates together. It is a very important part of each skate. For the production of the chassis are being used different materials. The plastic chassis has large differences in quality and durability. Fitness skates lighter and higher chassis on which is the most commonly used aluminum alloys. Skates for aggressive skating have low chassis (for better balance) and quite massive because it is often scraped.
Wheels for in-line skates are divided according to hardness, thickness, and size. Large wheels are generally faster and better to overcome minor irregularities on the surface. They are designed for experienced skaters - require a certain amount of skating ability. Smaller wheels are, however, more stable, but slower, suitable for beginning skaters. Another feature wheels - already mentioned hardness. The harder the wheel, the faster but less comfortable is the ride.
The quality of bearings is to ride on in-line skates is very important. Bearing, which is processed imprecisely is quickly clogged with dirt, rotates the wrong way and is quickly wrecked. Quality bearings are easy to turn and are well sealed. Bearings are like wheels consumables - you should expect that from time to time must be changed and that you have to care for them. There are many factors - dust, your weight, how often you ride, how you take care of bearings.
