Hiking in the mountains for the first time

First time hiking in the mountains

If you are tired of the noise and dynaic life in the big city and if you want to enjoy the tranquility and beauty of nature, then a weekend in the mountains is just what you need. Here is a list of things you must take with you.

Why to go hiking? Many people find it hard to imagine their life without a car, but if you leave your vehicle, you can enjoy views that simply cannot see otherwise. One day out of the city or serious hiking in nature will allow you to see its true beauty, even for a few hours or a few days to get rid of the stress of noisy and dirty urban environment. You can take your children, friends or your dog with you and to experience an adventure you will remember for long time.

What will you need?

If you go on transition or just outing in the mountains, you should be fully aware that there will not going to be a hotel and you will not have many of the amenities of the modern world, but this is where the charm of transitions hides. You can feel a whole new experience to leave your comfort zone and check your durability. Here are a few mandatory elements of the equipment, you should take with you:

∙ Tourist backpack - There are two types of backpacks: with internal or external frame. The models with inner frame are lighter and smaller in size and they are more suitable for most beginners mountaineers.  It is not recommended the use of ordinary backpacks, because they do not evenly distribute the load and have significantly less capacity. The framework is very important in backpacks. Its task is to share evenly out the weight and transfer part of this weight from the shoulders over your hips. Important in backpacks is to have a hip belt that facilitates their wear and have a large capacity. It is better to look for tourist backpack from strong impermeable fabric that will keep your load even in rain.

Here's several options for models of tourist backpacks

∙    Sleeping bag - sleeping bag is more than obligatory to possess not only on long trips but  in all situations that involve sleeping outdoors. It is important to keep your sleeping bag dry and to choose not the most warming sleeping bag. The more warm, more heavy and volume will be. We recommend sleeping bags Husky.  They offer extreme heat, very low weight, a variety of sizes and all these qualities at a very affordable price.

∙ Sleeping mat - No, the sleeping mat you use for yoga is not suitable. You will need comfortable self-inflatable mat, which guarantees you a peaceful sleep, because sleep is extremely important, especially in the mountains. At the end of the day after a long and tiring transition you will certainly need a serious amount of sleep for you to recuperate.

∙    Hiking shoes – They are an absolute must for every mountaineer and you will surely need them. This is one of the most important elements of your tour equipment and should not do absolutely no compromise on quality. High-quality hiking boots can withstand even decades, so the slightly larger investment will definitely worthwhile. The most important quality about these shoes is to protect ankles and feet, but at the same time must be made of high quality waterproof material which will  keep your feet dry even in terms of rainfall.

Here you can choose comfortable hiking boots, depending on your taste.

Depending on the season you will need a hat and a pair of high quality sunglasses to protect the eyes.First time hiking in the mountains
