ROLLERFEST RUSE - BUCHAREST 2017

For the fifth consecutive year, Ruse will host the already traditional roller festival ROLLER FEST RUSE 2017 for young and adults.

The Roller fest is organized by Roller Club Ruse, "Extreme Skate" Association together with Foundation "Ruse Free Spirit City and Municipality of Ruse. The teams of TEMPISH Bulgaria, Extreme Sport and Skateshop Extreme are glad to join the fest by providing the prizes together with roleri-net, Vertigo Skate shop, Dimibike sports store and more.

The aim of the event is to promote roller sport among young and adults as a way of spending the leisure time on healthy and enjoyable way; to help developing social contacts between young people, to motivate their desire for sport and to develop their moving culture, and last but not least - to give the people of Ruse and other cities in Bulgaria (Sofia, Varna, Bourgas, Plovdiv, Pazardjik, etc.) the opportunity to do together what they like - to skate inline skates(rollers).

The Roller fest will start informally on 21.04.17 with a night city ride at 23.00 o`clock and the official opening will be at 9.20 am on 22.04.2017 at the Svoboda Square in front of the opera. After the start a procession of roller skaters and bike riders - participants of the festival will pass on the streets of the city of Ruse. 

There are competition games for children and adults, amateur slalom competitions (tricks with roller cones) and demonstrations from the best roller-clubs in Bulgaria.

For the first time this year, the Roller fest program includes a workshop "Let`s skate together with rollers"- free lessons for inline skates and traditional quad skates. During this workshop all the people who would like to try skating will learn about the rules of roller skating and wearing protectors. They will acquire basic skills in various skating movements such as stepping, turning, stopping, and more.

The best players will be awarded with cups, medals and prizes, and for the other participants in the Roller fest and the workshop - there will be a lottery with prizes provided by Tempish Bulgaria and Skateshop Extreme.

The next day, the event will be transferred to Herăstrău Park, Bucharest, where the participants will be able to exchange experiences with their Romanian friends.

After returning to Ruse on the evening of 23.04.17, the Roller fest will be officially closed.

PROGRAM:

FIRST DAY – 21.04.2017, Friday

Accommodation of guests from other cities in student hostels (for those who have previously expressed their desire and have paid overnight stays)

23:00 – city skating at night

SECOND DAY – 22.04.2016, Saturday
08:30 - 09:20 – Meeting point at Svoboda Square, in front of the opera (preparation and equipment for a roller skates and bicycle procession)
09:20 - 09:30 – Official opening of ROLLER FEST Ruse 2017

9:30 - 10:00 – Roller skate and bicycle procession in Ruse (start point: Svoboda Square, in front of the opera)
10:00 - 10:30 – Register of the participants in the competitions
10:30 - 13:30 – Competition games for adults:
- Speed Slalom (Speed Slalom) - crossing a line of 20 cones on one foot for the shortest time;
- "Cross-country" - women over 15 years of age;
- "Cross-country" - men over 15 years of age;
- Slalom – competition/demonstrations
13:30 - 14:30 – Procession with roller skates and bicycles on the bicycle lanes in Ruse (start point: Svoboda Square, in front of the opera)
14:30 - 15:00 – Free time
13:30 – 15:00 - Workshop for young and adults  "Let`s skate together with rollers" - free lessons for inline skates and traditional quad skates in which the participants will obtain:
– Basic knowledge of the types of roller skates or quad skates and protection equipment;
– Basic rules for roller skating or quad skating and how to put protection equipment;
– Basic movements such as stepping, turning, turning of the inner and outer edge of the rollers  etc.;
- Main stop tricks with roller skates or quad skate;
15:00 - 15:30 – Register of the participants in the competitions for kids
15:30 - 18:30 – Competition games for kids:
- "Shuttle" -Children from 6 to 9 years - 2 shuttles
- "Shuttle" - Children from 10 to 12 years - 3 shuttles
- "Cross-country" -Children from 12 to 15 years old
(Cross-country Skating - cross on roller skates with overcoming obstacles).
18:30 - 19:00 – Awarding of winners
