Czech Triumph in Le Mans

Small country, big sports personalities. Racers from team TEMPISH DUO 1 confirmed this rule during their participation in extreme endurance race on inline skates - 24 Heures Rollers, which took place at the famous Bugatti circuit in Le Mans, France on the 27th and 28th of June.

24 Heures Rollers is the largest speed skating race in Europe, which has been held annually since 2000. The event is always attended by thousands of racers and hundreds of support who are caring them during races. 24 Heures Rollers is really an extreme matter that test both physical and mental endurance of all participants.

Team TEMPISH DUO 1 ran in the DUO category. This category was occupied by a total of 40 teams from various parts of the world, for which it was one of the highlights of this year's inline racing season. As the name suggests, only two skaters rotated on the track for the full 24 hours - Martin Kuchar and David Novak.

".... It is June 27th 2015, the racers are waiting impatiently on one side of the track and their nervous eyes hypnotize carefully prepared skates waiting on the other side of the track. Hundreds of people standing on a glass causeway and thousands more sitting on the grandstand are watching the racers of one of the world's most famous racetracks. It is 15:59, the last ten seconds remain to the start, reporters check their cameras for the last time and racers adopt the starting position. The tension is almost visible. The typical dramatic music starts playing and is crossed by the deafening gunshot. All 449 skaters start running to their skates as fast as they can, put them on and head out on the great race which will end up for them after long 24 hours. "

Exactly 24 hours later Martin Kuchar passes the finish line for the eighty fifth time. He is holding Czech flag and a great exhaustion, but feelings of joy and happiness are seen on his face. No wonder, TEMPISH DUO 1 team finished after a thrilling and dramatic performance during the race on the 1st place in the DUO category which is a great historic achievement for Czech expedition!

David and Martin:

• Won the DUO category.

• Finished in 22nd place In the overall ranking. The race was attended by 449 teams in total.

• Circled the track in Le Mans a 169 times.

• Covered 707.3 kilometers in total. Each of them therefore skated more than 350 km!

• They rode an incredible average speed of 29.2 km/ h.

Czech racers circled the 2nd best performance with their 169 circles in the DUO category in the history of these races held since 2010. The record is held by the Berlins TOP (171 rounds, 2012), who finished this year on the 2nd place with a loss of 19 laps on TEMPISH DUO 1 team.

Another team raced under the TEMPISH brand name – the TEMPISH LONDON GALACTICS. A team of six girls, who come from various parts of the world (Argentina, Czech Republic, England, Korea, Poland ...) rode in the ENDURANCE FEMME category. Galactics were shining in past years – 3rd, 2nd and 1st place. Unfortunately, girls didn’t continue in their successes from last year's. After a few mistakes and even a penalty they finished on still very nice 4th place.
