  • experienced mountaineers - starting point town of Karlovo;

It is a good idea to consider not only the length and slope, but also the time for climbing, exposure to weather conditions and your personal motivation.


How to prepare for the hike?

Checking the weather and seasonal features


The changeable weather in the Botev region requires special attention. In spring there is a risk of avalanches, and in summer - of thunderstorms. Always check the current forecast and be ready to adjust your plans in case of adverse conditions.


Required equipment


Without the right equipment, the success of the hike is questionable. The basic things needed include:


  • high-quality mountain shoes;

  • wind- and waterproof jacket;

  • spare clothes and thermal underwear;
