REKD Junior Ultralite: Protection Without Weight
Parents know that if a helmet is heavy and uncomfortable, the child won't want to wear it. With the REKD Junior Ultralite, this problem is solved. The British brand REKD Protection has created a helmet that combines classic "urban" style with technology from professional cycling.
In-Mold Technology
Unlike standard helmets with hard ABS shells, this helmet uses In-Mold technology. The inner protective foam (EPS) is thermally fused with the outer PC shell. The result is a helmet that is super strong but nearly 50% lighter than standard models. This significantly reduces neck fatigue during longer rides.
Comfort and Safety
The model is certified to standard EN1078, making it suitable for a wide range of sports – from bicycles and scooters to rollerblades and skateboards. Additional features include:
- Twist-Fit Retention System: A rear dial for easy and precise adjustment to the head shape, ensuring the helmet stays in place.
- Anti-Bacterial Lining: Soft heat-stamped padding that keeps things fresh.
- Optimum Airflow: 12 strategically placed vents ensure a constant flow of fresh air.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
❓ What age is this helmet for?
The Junior series is aimed at kids, but head circumference is the key factor. Measure your child's head (sizes typically range between 44cm and 52cm depending on the specific XXS/XS or S/M model chosen).
❓ Why is a lightweight helmet important?
Standard skate helmets weigh over 400g. The REKD Ultralite is only 233g. Developing neck muscles in children can fatigue quickly with heavy gear; a lighter helmet provides much better comfort and encourages wear.
❓ Is it suitable for bikes and scooters?
Yes, it is certified to EN1078, which is the European safety standard for cycling, skateboarding, roller skating, and scooter riding.
