Next-Gen Breathability: Kilpi ERIN-M
When it comes to intense movement in the mountains – whether it's ski touring, speed hiking, or dynamic skiing – the Kilpi ERIN-M is the indispensable second layer. This functional men's sweatshirt is designed to work in sync with your body, wicking moisture away faster than standard fleece.
Available in classic color – Black– it is the perfect addition to your high-performance winter gear.
Why is this the best "Second Layer" for active athletes?
The secret lies in the OPTI-STRETCH fabric with a specific "channel" knit structure. These micro-air ducts allow air to circulate more freely and literally "pump" sweat from your base layer to the outer layer. This keeps you dry and warm without overheating (the "greenhouse" effect).
Key Benefits:
- Maximum Breathability: The structured knit makes it perfect for high-pulse sports where sweat wicking is priority #1.
- Freedom of Movement: 4-way stretch and flat seams ensure the sweatshirt won't restrict you or chafe, even under a backpack or jacket.
- Practical Design: High collar with chin guard, adjustable bottom hem to stop wind, and a total of 3 zippered pockets (two main and one chest pocket).
- Versatility: Excellent choice for skiing, cross-country skiing, mountaineering, or autumn trekking.
Technical Specifications:
| Material | OPTI-STRETCH (Structured knit) |
| Composition | 95% Polyester, 5% Elastane |
| Layer Type | Second layer (Mid-layer) / Insulation |
| Properties | Quick-drying, Breathable, Elastic |
| Pockets | 2 main zip pockets, 1 chest zip pocket |
| Available Colors | Black |
Technology: OPTI-STRETCH
Specially developed fabric for active sports. It combines excellent thermal insulation with lightness and elasticity. The bi-component structure (smooth outside, textured inside) accelerates moisture evaporation and maintains an optimal microclimate next to the skin.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Is it suitable for very cold weather?
A: Yes, as a mid-layer under a jacket. Unlike thick fleeces, ERIN-M warms by trapping air in its channels, but its main strength is preventing you from staying wet.
Q: Does it have a hood?
A: No, the model has a high collar. This is an advantage for skiing as it doesn't create a "lump" under your ski jacket's hood.
Q: How does the fabric feel?
A: Very soft and pleasant to the touch, with a smooth outer surface that allows jackets to slide over it easily without snagging.
