Start Your Hockey Journey: Bauer X-LP (Learn to Play)
Want to play hockey, not just skate in circles? Then the Bauer X-LP Senior is your model. The "LP" stands for Learn to Play – these skates are specifically designed for people taking their first steps in the sport who need a balance of comfort and protection.
Better than basic skates:
Unlike the lifestyle model (X-LS), the Bauer X-LP offers upgrades that allow you to join the game without fear:
- Impact Protection: The tongue is made of thick felt with added padding. This protects the top of the foot from puck or stick impacts – a feature missing in recreational skates.
- Reinforced Construction: The outer shell (3D Poly Carb) is slightly more durable to withstand the rigors of hockey but remains flexible enough for easy learning.
- Premium Comfort: The interior is lined with a special Nylex (Fleece) material, which is not only soft but also keeps the foot warmer than standard microfiber.
Key Benefits:
- Stability for Beginners: The runner has a longer radius (13ft), providing a larger contact area with the ice. This makes maintaining balance much easier.
- Modern Look: The design is inspired by the pro-level Vapor and Supreme models, so you'll look like a pro on the ice.
- Ankle Cushioning: Anaform pads around the ankle prevent chafing and pain during long practice sessions.

| Construction | 3D Poly Carb (Durable) |

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: What is the difference compared to X-LS?
A: The X-LP (Learn to Play) has better tongue protection and a stronger construction suitable for puck impacts. The X-LS is for recreational skating only.
Q: Do I need to "break them in"?
A: No, Bauer X-LP are designed for an "Instant Fit" – they are comfortable right out of the box thanks to the extra soft padding.
Q: Do they come sharpened?
A: They have a factory edge, but for playing hockey (sharp turns and stops), we recommend professional sharpening before your first practice.
